چکیده

Multi-resolution sinusoidal modeling is a method of representing audio signals as a sum of discrete sinusoids having various durations, and time-varying frequencies, phases, and amplitudes. This paper discusses the motivation for the multiresolution sinusoidal model (MRSM) and various structures used to compute it. A new filter-bank analysis structure is presented that is simpler than previous methods. Finally, a matchingpursuit analysis method is presented for more efficiently modeling time-varying signals.

Sinusoidal Extraction Using an Efficient Implementation of a Multi-resolution Fft

This paper provides a detailed description of the spectral analysis front-end of a melody extraction algorithm. Our particular approach aims at extracting the sinusoidal components from the audio signal. It includes a novel technique for the efficient computation of STFT spectra in different time-frequency resolutions. Furthermore, we exploit the application of local sinusoidality criteria, in ...

Efficient Parametric Modeling for Audio Transients

In this work, we present an evolution of the DDS (Damped & Delayed Sinusoidal) model introduced within the framework of the general signal modeling. This model is named Partial Damped & Delayed Sinusoidal (PDDS) model and takes into account a single time delay parameter for a set of (un)damped sinusoids. This modification is more consistent with the transient audio modeling problem. Then, we de...

Audio transients modeling by damped & delayed sinusoids (DDS)

In this paper, we present a novel parametric model based on an important evolution of McAulay & Quatieri sinusoidal models [5]. This model takes into account a damping factor as well as a delay parameter which makes it more efficient for modeling strong audio transients such as castanets onsets without pre-echo effects. We also develop an original algorithm to estimate the model parameters by m...

A hybrid sub-band sinusoidal coding scheme

This paper describes a hybrid sub-band speech coding scheme based on sinusoidal coding and CELP. Purely voiced speech is encoded using sinusoidal coding techniques and phase information is selectively transmitted. For mixed and unvoiced speech, the lower band is processed by sinusoidal coding algorithms while the upper band is encoded using CELP. To accommodate the extra bandwidth required by t...

Calculation of an entropy-constrained quantizer for exponentially damped sinudoids parameters

The Exponentially Damped Sinusoids (EDS) model can efficiently represent real-world audio signals. In the context of low bit rate parametric audio coding, the EDS model could bring a significant improvement over classical sinusoidal models. The inclusion of an additional damping parameter calls for a specific quantization scheme. In this report, we describe a new jointscalar quantization scheme...
